Island Volunteers is a registered Non-Stock, Non-Profit Accredited International Non-Government Organisation
Project membership is open to all citizens of the world regardless of race or religious beliefs.
Our Primary Objectives are:
To identify suitable reforestation projects which benefit the people of poor rural/forest communities. To help restore forest areas of significant ecological importance. To assess and assist on the reforestation of areas susceptible to landslide due to logging/deforestation and to provide technical assistance on sustainable approaches.
To encourage and forge international friendships and to supply reforestation projects with enthusiastic people who want to provide valuable assistance by means of giving of their time and effort, whilst also contributing to the funding of the project.
Our Secondary Objectives are:
Wherever possible, to promote cultural exchange by means of exploring the regions places of interest and historical roots, getting first-hand interaction with the local people and its culture. And of course, to provide our Volunteers with a fun, learning experience along the way.
We are very happy to work alongside Governments and Private Companies in order to complete specific projects and welcome making all kinds of Partnerships that benefit the projects we assist on. That said, we will always remain a completely independent Non-government organisation.
